Serbian Christmas -

Celebrated 13 days after Dec. 25th...for over 100 years our Serbian-American population has marked this day with a volley of rifle shots to announce that Christ is born in front of the National Hotel, St. Sava's Church on North Main St., and St. Sava's Mission on Broadway. Know that you are safe and all is well as the rifles are not loaded with live rounds.  It's your neighbor celebrating and keeping alive the rich traditions of the old country, and wishing you every happiness this Holiday Season, with great prosperity and good health in the New Year.

Dandelion Days -

March 15-16, 2014, 8 am - 5 pm, Historic Downtown Jackson. Outdoor bazaar and flea market, family-oriented fun, food, street entertainers  Jackson Lion's Club. The event will take place rain or shine.

MAIN STREET THEATRE WORKS' COMEDY UNDER THE STARS: THE GOLDEN STATE

Main Street Theatre Works (MSTW) continues its 11th season at the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre with The Golden State, Laura Wilson’s reinvention of the Moliere classic,The Miser, this time brought to present-day Southern California.  

Friday and Saturday nights, August 8 - September 6th. Doors open at 6:30 for picnics; show starts at 8:00. Patrons are encouraged to come early with their picnic dinners, chairs and jackets. Jazzin' It Up in Jackson -

Free event in Historic Downtown Jackson. Live music, wine tasting and fine art on Jackson's Main Street. Sponsored by the Amador Arts Council.   Amador Arts Council   This event has been postponed.

3rd of July Celebration -

Annual celebration of our nation's birthday, sponsored by the Jackson Lion's Club. The event takes place on the 3rd of July each year and is held at the Jackson Junior High School field.

Days of 49 -  Sept. 27 & 28, 2014

An authentic wagon train of twenty horse-drawn wagons will pull into Jackson on Saturday, Sept. 27 after a three-day journey through Amador County, celebrating the county’s 160th anniversary. Sunday, Sept. 28, 10 am, bring the whole family to Main Street for a Wagon Train Parade, then from noon - 5 pm enjoy music, gunfights, free carriage rides, Gold Rush-era activities and much more family fun on Main Street in Jackson. Main Street Jackson Musical Organ Rally - September 27-28, 2014

Experience the music of yesteryear! Unusual musical band organs from all over the country and their colorful owners, performing on Main Street. See these wonderful machines work and learn a little about America’s past. A one-of-a-kind opportunity for the whole family! Free, on Main Street. Saturday, September 27th, 10 am - 4 pm. and a Musical Organ concert at the Jackson United Methodist Church, 120 Church St. on Sunday, September 28th, 1 pm.

Plaid Friday - Skip black Friday this year and join us in downtown Jackson for our 2nd annual Plaid Friday.

The name Plaid Friday celebrates the diversity and creativity of independent businesses. Plaid Friday is the fun and enjoyable alternative to the big box store "Black Friday", and is designed to promote both local and independently owned businesses during the holidays.

This shop-local event brings back the nostalgic times when shopping for friends and family was a pleasurable, leisurely activity. Several Jackson businesses will be offering incentives such as coupons, discounts or gift with purchase for shoppers that wear plaid on Friday, November 29th from 8am to 5pm. Christmas Delights - Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving Day, 6 - 9 pm. Santa will light the town Christmas Tree, 6 pm Friday and Saturday at the Firehouse, then join Santa for photos at the National Hotel.
