Days of 49 & Musical Organ Rally
Amador County, CA
Sept. 25 - 28, 2014


An authentic wagon train of twenty horse-drawn wagons will pull into Jackson, CA on Saturday, Sept. 27 after a three-day journey from Cooper Vineyards in the Shenandoah Valley, through Drytown, Amador City and Sutter Creek, celebrating Amador County’s 160th anniversary.

Saturday, Sept. 27 Main Street Jackson
10 am – 4 pm: Musical Organ Rally - Unusual musical band organs from all over the country and their colorful owners perform on Main Street. A free, one-of-a-kind opportunity for the whole family.
7 pm: “A Step Back in Time – Meet Residents of Jackson’s Historic Cemeteries” Tour & re-enactments 

Sunday, Sept. 28, Main Street, Jackson
11 am: Bring the whole family to Main Street for a Wagon Train Parade.
Noon - 5 pm: Enjoy music, gunfights, free carriage rides, gold panning, Gold Rush-era activities and much more free family fun.
1 pm: Musical Organ Concert, Jackson United Methodist Church

Thursday, Sept. 25
  • 9 am - Wagon Train departs Cooper Vineyards, Shenandoah Valley
  • 1pm - Wagon Train Arrives Amador County Fairgrounds
  • 5 pm - Public invited to visit Wagon Train Camp, BBQ Dinner Open to the Public Available, Casual entertainment
  • Overnight Encampment

 

Friday, Sept. 26
  • 8 am - Wagon Train leaves Plymouth, bound for Drytown, Amador City and Sutter Creek
  • Lunch - Visit Wagon Train on Main Street Sutter Creek then Wagon Train continues to Oneto Ranch, Ridge Rd, 13200 Ridge Rd., Sutter Creek - Watch for signs on Ridge Road east of Hwy 49
  • 5pm - Visit the Wagon Train Camp, BBQ Dinner available, Casual entertainment
  • Overnight Encampment

Saturday, Sept. 27
  • Morning - Wagon Train leaves Sutter Creek bound for Jackson
  • 10am - Musical Organ Rally begins on Main St, Jackson, until approx. 4 pm
  • 11 am - Wagon Train procession down Main Street, Jackson (street open to vehicle traffic) continues to Kennedy Mine 12594 Kenndy Mine Rd., Jackson
  • 3pm-7pm - Visit Wagon Train Camp, BBQ Dinner available, Casual entertainment
  • 7pm - “A Step Back in Time – Meet Residents of Jackson’s Historic Cemeteries” Tour & re-enactments - Meet with a flashlight at the Jackson City Cemetery entrance on Church Street

 

Sunday, Sept. 28
  • 7am - Wagon Train Camp Breakfast, Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre, Open to the Public
  • 9 am - Wagon Train Church Services, Kennedy Mine Chapel, Open to the Public - 1127 N. Main Street, Jackson
  • 10:30 am - Wagon Train departs Kennedy Mine for Main Street, Jackson
  • 11am - Wagon Train Parade on Main Street, Jackson
  • Noon-5pm -Days of 49 Celebration, Music, Entertainment on Main Street, Jackson (street closed to traffic)
  • 1pm - Musical Organ Church Concert, Jackson Methodist Church, 120 Church St., Jackson
